Every GOALS expedition begins and ends the same way—in the Chair Circle. As the sun rises over the river or sets behind canyon walls, kids and mentors gather in camp chairs to share meals, journal reflections, and conversations that shape their experience. These moments, simple yet powerful, are where self-confidence grows, connections deepen, and real transformation takes root.

Our Chair Circle Giving Society is named in honor of this treasured space. It’s made up of generous monthly donors who sustain the heart of our mission—using multi-day river expeditions to transform the future for kids and wild places. When you give monthly, you’re pulling up a chair for a child who may not otherwise have the chance to experience this kind of growth. Support the Brannen Maloney International Legacy Fund

Brannen Maloney lived a life that embodied many of the core principles at GOALS Youth River Expeditions. He wondered as he wandered, charging steep lines on skis and on his bike, navigating rushing rapids, and relishing time in the calm pools. He made getting his passport stamped a priority, while leaving his own indelible stamp on the people and places he interacted with. While building a lifestyle true to the “my life is better than your vacation” bumper sticker, he also managed to create a community of people who appreciated his antics, his giggle, and his zest for life.

Brannen’s life ended far too soon, but his legacy will live on through the Brannen Maloney International Legacy Fund at GOALS Youth River Expeditions. The Brannen Maloney International Legacy Fund will support financial assistance for kids on GOALS international expeditions. Over time, we aspire to raise enough that an endowment is set up in Brannen’s honor which will provide recurring long-term support for the kids in our international expeditions.

Donate to the oARLOck Fund

The oARLOck Fund was created in memory of Arlo Tejada, the late co-owner of Sheri Griffith River Expeditions, who passed away on December 5th, 2014. Arlo was more than a mentor and collaborator, he was the quiet force who helped turn the dream of GOALS into a reality. Like the small but essential piece of gear that connects an oar to a boat, an oarlock transforms vision into movement.

Arlo was our oARLOck—connecting passion with purpose, and making it possible for hundreds of kids to experience life-changing growth on the river. Today, the oARLOck Fund honors his legacy by increasing access to GOALS expeditions for youth from underserved communities. At its core, this fund ensures that no child is denied the opportunity to grow in wild places simply due to financial limitations.

What does my donation benefit?

Your gift to GOALS general operating fund directly supports our mission - providing scholarships for kids from underserved communities, supporting our mental health and social-emotional learning curriculum, training mentors, and ensuring the sustainability of our organization. Gifts of all sizes make an impact, we are grateful for your investment in our work.

Can I make a donation via check?

Yes, thank you for your generosity! Checks can be made payable to GOALS and mailed to:

What if my company will match my gift?

That’s amazing! Many employers match charitable contributions, and it’s one of the easiest ways to double your impact. If your workplace offers a matching program, just let us know or send any necessary forms to amanda@goalsonrivers.org and we’ll take care of the rest.

Is this donation tax deductible?

Yes, GOALS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Our EIN is 26-4664955. Once your gift is received, you’ll get a confirmation and tax receipt for your records.

Are there event sponsorship opportunities?

Absolutely! We love partnering with mission-aligned businesses and organizations to make our community events possible. Sponsorships come with brand visibility, social impact, and the chance to connect with GOALS supporters who care deeply about youth and the outdoors. Can I volunteer my time with GOALS?

Yes and we’d love to hear from you. While volunteer opportunities on expeditions are limited due to safety and training requirements, we often welcome support with events, outreach, and special projects. Can I make a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one?

Of course—what a beautiful way to celebrate someone’s legacy. You can dedicate your online gift by checking ‘Make This a Tribute Donation’ during the donation process, or by including a note with your mailed check. If you’d like us to notify a family member or friend about your tribute, we’re honored to do so, just make sure to share their contact information.

What if I want to donate product?

In-kind donations are deeply appreciated and can help us stretch our resources further. From outdoor gear to auction items, product donations make a meaningful impact.
